UNJournal Lee Sung Jun | President Lee Jae-Myung hosted a dinner with Party Leader Kim Min-suk, former party leader candidates Reps. Jeong Cheong-rae and Song Young-gil, and Floor Leader Han Byung-do to celebrate the party's new beginning and to share a spirit of harmony.

The dinner featured "Harmony Yukhoe," a dish made with representative ingredients from the candidates' hometowns, and the event proceeded in a warm and friendly atmosphere until the very end.

President Lee first offered his congratulations to the newly appointed Party Leader Kim Min-suk and conveyed words of comfort and encouragement to Reps. Jeong Cheong-rae and Song Young-gil for doing their best until the end.

He emphasized that all three candidates are comrades who have shared the joys and sorrows of life together and are responsible key figures of a government based on popular sovereignty.

Representative Kim Min-suk apologized for some excessive remarks made during the national convention process and proposed that they work together to support the party's unity and the administration of state affairs. Representative Jeong Cheong-rae stated, “We are comrades and fellow soldiers who crossed the line of death together during the December 3rd Martial Law rebellion. As a community of shared destiny with the Lee Jae-myung administration, we must unite our strength to secure a second term by winning the general and presidential elections.”

Representative Song Young-gil emphasized the need for coordination between the Party and the Presidential Mansion of Blue House regarding real estate taxation, resolved misunderstandings with Comrade Jeong Cheong-rae, and expressed regret over the controversy surrounding the party convention process.

Finally, President Lee Jae-Myung described the Party, the government, and the Blue House as a “community of shared destiny” and “partners in state affairs” bearing the calling of the times together, and urged everyone to join forces to make this year the inaugural year of an “irreplaceable Republic of Korea.”

Subsequently, the attendees agreed to do their utmost for the success of a government based on popular sovereignty as a “Stronger One Team,” and decided to communicate and cooperate more closely in their respective positions to produce tangible results that all citizens can experience.
