UNJournal Lee Sung Jun | Artist Jeon Byung-Hee, winner of the Grand Prize and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the World Peace Art Exhibition, is holding her twentieth solo exhibition entitled, "Drawing with Heart."
The exhibition will be held from August 21 to September 13, 2026, at the gallery located within Dream Church at 131 Yongsin-ro, Sangnok-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, with the opening ceremony taking place on August 22 at 1:00 PM.
Artist Jeon Byung-hee is a mid-career artist who has established her own unique sculptural language over a long period of time. The artist has participated in over 240 domestic and international art fairs, invitational exhibitions, and group exhibitions, and has showcased her work on various international stages, including the United States, Hawaii, Moscow, Paris, Tokyo, London, China, Turkey, and Vietnam.
In particular, the artist received recognition for her artistic merit and capabilities by winning the Grand Prize, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award, at the World Peace Art Exhibition.
In addition, the artist has accumulated a diverse list of awards, including the Special Prize at the Korea Art Exhibition, the Grand Prize for Korean Arts and Culture, the K-Culture Foundation Culture and Arts Award, the K-Culture Grand Prize, the Great K-100 Award, and the "Artist of the Year" award at the Korea National Heritage Exhibition.
"Painting with the heart": "Healing and rest conveyed through color and texture"
The title of this solo exhibition is "Painting with the Heart." What catches the eye in artist Jeon Byung-hee's works is the intense colors and the three-dimensional textures that seem to come alive on the canvas. In particular, she has conveyed comfort and hope through paintings to those who have difficulty accessing culture and art, such as by donating works to the Michuhol Donggeurami Day Care Center, Nawonho Nursing Home, Cheongsong Prison, and Yeosu Prison.
This demonstrates the artist's philosophy of sharing her work with society rather than keeping it confined within galleries.
Artist Jeon Byung-hee is currently active as a member of the Korea Fine Arts Association, a director of the Insadong People International Contemporary Art Association, a director of the Jongno Fine Arts Association, a member of the Korean Professional Artists Association, and an executive director of the Central Branch of the Korea Creative Art Association. He is also listed as a recommended artist for the World Peace Art Exhibition.
