President Lee accepts letters of credence from 7 new ambassadors to Korea

President Lee Jae-myung accepted letters of credence from seven new resident ambassadors to South Korea during a credential presentation ceremony held at the Presidential Office on Sept. 3.

 

The credential presentation ceremony is the procedure whereby the head of state of the sending country presents the letter of credence, issued to the ambassador by their head of state, to the head of state of the receiving country. This ceremony marks the first such event held since the inauguration of the new administration.

 

 

The ambassadors presenting credentials this time are as follows:

 

o Toufiq Islam Shatil, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea
o Sianga Kivuila Samuel Abílio, Ambassador of Angola to the Republic of Korea
o Lyes Nait-Tighilt, Ambassador of Algeria to the Republic of Korea
o Syed Moazzam Hussain Shah, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea
o Angie Shakira Martínez Tejera, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Republic of Korea
o Julio Herraiz España, Ambassador of Spain to the Republic of Korea
o Cecep Herawan, Ambassador of Indonesia to the Republic of Korea

 

President Lee welcomed the newly appointed ambassadors to Korea. He urged them to serve as bridges to strengthen bilateral relations across various fields by frequently meeting and communicating closely with diverse figures from all walks of life, emphasizing that the starting point of relations between nations is the meeting and communication between people.

 

President Lee also emphasized that the new administration seeks diverse cooperation and solidarity under the banner of practical diplomacy centered on national interests, aiming to enhance mutually beneficial relations.

 

He urged the ambassadors to do their utmost to further develop bilateral ties, particularly calling for active efforts to strengthen economic cooperation that benefits the livelihoods of both nations.
