President Lee Jae-myung said at a press conference held on July 3, marking 30 days since his inauguration, “We are doing our best to achieve mutually beneficial and win-win results based on the principle of practical diplomacy centered on national interests in the Korea-U.S. trade negotiations, which is one of the most pressing issues.”
He also said, “Based on the solid U.S.-Korea alliance, close U.S.-Korea-Japan cooperation, and the prompt improvement of relations with China and Russia, we will protect peace and the lives of our people through practical diplomacy centered on national interests,” adding, “We will definitely turn the Korea discount into a Korea premium.”

President Lee said, “I will do my best to fulfill the solemn mandate of the people to take the lead in change, overcome the current crisis, and open the door to unlimited opportunities during the remaining 4 years and 11 months of my term,” and presented the tasks to be achieved in the future.
First, President Lee said, “My top priority is to alleviate the suffering of the people and create a country that can grow and leap forward again,” adding, “I will spare no investment in the future, from cutting-edge technology industries such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors, to renewable energy-related industries such as energy highways, and even the cultural industry.”
He continued, “We will prepare for the KOSPI 5000 era by advancing the capital market, which is the core platform for growth, so that technology-driven growth can gain strong momentum,” and added, “We will spare no effort to ensure that funds in the market flow from unproductive areas to productive areas so that the virtuous cycle of the economy can be restored.”
In addition, he mentioned real estate market stabilization, balanced national development, and balanced industrial development between large and small businesses, saying, “We will achieve growth for all,” and “We will consider regions and localities in all national policies.”
Second, President Lee said, “We will protect the lives of our people with a thick social safety net,” adding, “We will build a more comprehensive social safety net to protect the vulnerable who are exposed to the waves of the people's livelihood economy, and we will prepare to move toward a society where the basic lives of all people are guaranteed.”

Third, President Lee said, “We will fulfill the state's primary responsibility of ensuring the safety and peace of citizens' daily lives,” adding, “From investigating the truth behind social disasters to establishing measures to prevent the recurrence of industrial accidents, we will never shirk our responsibility to build a safe society.”
He continued, “We will transform deadly workplaces into safe ones and ensure that bereaved families no longer have to mourn in the streets. Peace is the minimum essential condition for the stability and recovery of the people. Based on a strong national defense, we will thoroughly prepare for provocations while resuming communication between the North and South, which has been severed, and open the path to peace and coexistence on the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and cooperation.”
Regarding agriculture, the President said, “We will swiftly pass the four agricultural livelihood laws, including the Grain Act, and reflect the voices of the field in our policies to allow hope to grow again in rural areas.”
President Lee also emphasized, “We will push forward with reforms of the power institutions entrusted with the authority of the people in a swift and decisive manner.”
Finally, he said, “The collective wisdom of the people is the sure light that will illuminate the path ahead,” and promised to make direct communication with the people.
He added, “We will respond to the earnest aspirations of the people with politics that brings about real change in their lives and politics that keeps its promises and builds trust.”
